Créole Orange Rhum Bootleg Kit for Dads - Make & Age Spirits in 5L Mini Barrel
Category: mount gay rum
Product Description: Home Whiskey Making in an Oak Barrel
Craft Spirits and Cocktails with Ease
With our small aging barrel, you can create whiskey or cocktails at home, experiencing the unique depth of flavor like never before. Our barrels age spirits 8 to 10 times faster than traditional 55-gallon drums. Just three to four weeks in one of our small barrels equates to the flavor extraction typically achieved over 1.5 to 2 years in a conventional barrel.
Chalkboard Front for Personalization
The barrel features a chalkboard front, perfect for noting the type of spirit, signature cocktail name, barreling date, and any special enhancements you make. Easily wipe off previous notes when starting a new batch. Chalk is included, so you can personalize your aging process!
Aesthetic Appeal for Your Space
These barrels serve not only as functional tools but also as striking display pieces for your bar or kitchen. They make for excellent gifts whether for whiskey connoisseurs or casual drinkers alike, allowing anyone to enhance their home bartending experience.
Create Signature Cocktails
Experiment with aged versions of classic cocktails at home. Whether it’s an Old Fashioned, Manhattan, Whiskey Sour, Boulevardier, or Sazerac, you’ll have the means to craft exquisite drinks.

Instructions for Use
1. Cure the Barrel: Begin by following the curing instructions in the Bootlegger's Bible with hot or boiling water to expand the wood and seal any leaks.
2. Add Essence: Pour the Swish Barrel Essence into the cured barrel according to our quantity chart.
3. Fill with Spirits: Top with your choice of vodka or grain alcohol (not included) and gently shake to blend.
4. Age and Taste: Allow to age for 1-2 weeks. Taste periodically until the desired flavor is achieved.
5. Dispense: Once ready, pour directly from the barrel or transfer to a glass bottle to halt the aging process.
Barrel Preparation Tips
Rotate your barrel every couple of days for optimal wood contact with the spirits. Remember, aging time is subjective, so listen to your palate.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Hoops Loose?: Temporarily loosened hoops are normal; they can be adjusted during the curing process.
- Rattling Inside?: It's common for charred wood pieces to rattle; this boosts aging quality by increasing surface contact.
- Spigot Tips: Proper insertion is crucial; use a rubber mallet during placement. Ensure airflow by removing the bung when dispensing.
